At Nuraxis, our leadership team combines deep expertise across control systems, power electronics, and embedded engineering. Our founders bring decades of combined experience developing advanced technologies for aerospace, automotive, energy, and high-performance electrified systems.

From electric propulsion control to high-power inverter design and complex system modelling, our team has delivered engineering solutions for some of the most demanding applications in industry. We combine strong theoretical foundations with practical product development experience, enabling us to support projects from concept and architecture through validation and deployment.

Leadership Team

Co-Founder | Control Systems Specialist & Architect

Kassem El Cheikh Ali is a control systems engineer specializing in advanced control algorithms, system modeling, and software development for complex engineering systems. His work focuses on the design and implementation of robust control strategies for electrified powertrain platforms and large-scale energy systems.

He has extensive experience developing control software and high-fidelity simulation models using model-based design methodologies. Kassem has led the development of advanced control algorithms including sensorless PMSM control, parameter estimation techniques, and synchronization methods while supporting system verification through MIL, SIL, and HIL testing environments.

Kassem is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London and holds an MSc in Control Systems with Distinction from Imperial College London.


Co-Founder | Control Systems & Software Architect

Ali Meraj is a control systems engineer specializing in electric propulsion, motor drive systems, and embedded control software for advanced mobility platforms. He has extensive experience developing high-performance PMSM control systems for aerospace and electrified powertrain applications.

His work focuses on scalable control architectures, inverter–motor integration, and model-based development using MIL, SIL, and HIL verification methodologies. Ali has led the development of propulsion control software, high-fidelity simulation environments, and advanced motor control strategies including field-oriented control, MTPA/MTPV optimization, and flux-weakening for high-speed operation.

He holds an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design (Avionics) from Cranfield University and has contributed to the development of next-generation electric propulsion and EV powertrain systems


Co-Founder | Power Electronics & Electronics Engineer

Mahmood Akbar is a power electronics and electronics engineer with extensive experience designing high-efficiency inverter systems, switched-mode power supplies, and high-voltage electronic platforms for automotive and industrial applications.

He has led the design and development of high-voltage inverter platforms, DC-DC converters, and control electronics for high-performance electric drive systems. His expertise includes hardware architecture design, high-speed PCB layout, EMC optimization, and reliability analysis, along with system modeling and fault simulation for demanding engineering environments.

Mahmood holds a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering and has more than two decades of experience developing advanced power electronics systems for industrial and high-performance applications.
